Have the past few weeks felt a little… surreal?
For many of us, things seem to be speeding up, slowing down, or simply slipping sideways. Everyone experiences it differently, but lately I’ve noticed a strange relationship with time. Just this week, I showed up for an appointment that wasn’t on their calendar, and on another day, I randomly arrived at 10 a.m. when my appointment was actually at 3 p.m.
Little moments like that make me pause.
How is this sense of “weirdness” showing up for you?
Right now, the collective energy feels deeply transformative. We’re in a rare period of change that invites us to shed old layers and step into something new. Moments like this ask us to look honestly at our patterns, beliefs, and habits.
It’s time to let go of what no longer serves us — especially outdated ways of thinking, being, and doing.
So take a gentle inventory:
What are you holding onto that might actually be holding you back?
Simple ways to let go of what no longer serves
If you’d like to make this more than just a reflection, here are some practical ways to work with this shift:
1. Do a “mental declutter”
Write down recurring thoughts that drain you (self-doubt, old stories, fears). Ask:
- Is this actually true?
- Is this helpful right now?
Then consciously replace one of them with a more supportive perspective.
2. Release through your environment
Physical clutter often mirrors emotional clutter. Choose one small area — a drawer, your inbox, a corner of a room, and clear it with intention. As you do, silently affirm: I make space for what’s next.
3. Create a letting-go ritual
Keep it simple:
- Write what you’re ready to release on paper.
- Thank it for what it taught you.
- Tear it up or safely burn it.
This signals closure to both your mind and nervous system.
4. Notice where you’re forcing things
Pay attention to what feels heavy or effortful. Ask:
- What would happen if I softened here?
- Where can I stop pushing and start allowing?
5. Ask yourself powerful questions
Try journaling on one of these:
- What version of me is ready to retire?
- What am I afraid to release — and why?
- What would my life look like if I trusted change?
6. Practice micro-letting-go
You don’t have to release everything at once. Start tiny:
- Let go of one resentment.
- Say no to one obligation that drains you.
- Take one conscious breath when you feel overwhelmed.
Small shifts add up.
